Personal Reflections: How My Journey in Faith Shaped My Writing
Faith has always been more than a belief system for me. It has been the quiet thread weaving through every chapter of my life, guiding me not only as a person but also as a writer. My writing journey was never born out of ambition alone. It grew out of deep reflection, prayer, and an unshakable desire to share words that inspire mindfulness, healing, and hope. Each sentence I craft is not just an act of creativity but an echo of my spiritual walk. Writing has become the way I converse with God, and faith remains the compass pointing me toward purpose.
In the early years, my faith and writing were inseparable even though I did not realise it at the time. I began with simple journaling—scribbled thoughts and quiet prayers tucked away in notebooks. Those journals gave birth to poetry, where I found rhythm in expressing the heart’s dialogue with God. Poetry eventually unfolded into cookbooks infused with reflection and wellness, and later into works rooted deeply in survival. What connects them all is a consistent thread of God's Grace, a longing to shine light on resilience, healing, and the daily walk of a believer.

This journey in faith has culminated in the books I write today—nourishing cookbooks, heartfelt poetry, and journals designed to invite quiet reflection. For me, they are not simply products on a shelf; they are testimonies. Each book stands as a reminder that words can heal, uplift, and draw others closer to their own sense of purpose.
I write as Olivia Grace, a South African author with a passion for inspiring wellness, spiritual depth, and creativity. My growing collection of books blends nourishing recipes, lyrical poetry, and guided journals, testimonies, and social justice issues.
Looking ahead, I am excited about upcoming projects that continue this journey. Her Dialysis Diary offers a raw exploration of the battlefield of the mind of a dialysis patient. Sherman’s Adventures is a children’s faith-based series featuring my beloved cat as the main character. Twelve Treasures for the Narrow Road is a Christian series rooted in perseverance and faith.

My cookbook collection reflects another layer of my journey. Designed especially for individuals with kidney concerns, the recipes focus on low-sodium, low-potassium, and low-phosphate ingredients. Each smoothie highlights a unique “secret ingredient” with added health benefits, while the Best Brunch Cookbook adapts South African soul food for the CKD patient. These books are as practical as they are inspiring, offering a mindful and faith-centered approach to food.
Beyond food and health, my poetry collections celebrate the beauty, challenges, and quiet pauses of everyday life. My journals are created with care, encouraging readers to embrace gratitude, grace, and mindfulness.
When I step away from the page, you can often find me exploring nature, sipping on a smoothie, or curating resources for My Literary Lounge, my online space where words and awareness meet. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, with a specialization in agricultural production systems, and a Bachelor of Honours in Environmental Monitoring and Modeling, along with certification in the Environmental Inspectorate. This foundation shapes how I see the world holistically and often informs the way I write about sustainability, agriculture, and conservation.

I am also a mother of two boys, a trained photographer, and a passionate hiker of twenty-two years. Hiking often overlaps with photography, and I share that love through my community group on Facebook. I also run O'Couture Designs, where I provide design services as well as curated art.
Through all of this, one truth remains steady. Writing, for me, has never been separate from faith. Every word is a prayer in spirit. Every page is a testimony of grace. Every book is a reflection of the journey God has walked with me.
